We have all been stuck in the rough at one time or another. Now
we need to get the ball back into the short grass. The problem
when hitting out of the rough is that the club will twist through
impact and your shot will go off line.
There are many experts that recommend a vertical takeaway
and downswing to fix this problem. The reality is that the key
to rough play is to set up in the right position.
Now align the ball in front of the hosel so that you won't shank
the shot. You will able to minimize the twisting of the club and
the next thing you know you will be in the short grass, and be
in position to hit a great approach shot.
